The residential communities built by MCD Enterprises created a need for nearby shopping and neighborhood centers. Carrollton Enterprises, created in 1957, began building shopping centers to support neighborhood growth and economic development and is the developer, owner and manager of eight shopping centers, totaling over 1,250,000 square feet of retail space and approximately 210,000 square feet of Class A office building space.

His community service includes acting as the first Mayor of The City of New Carrollton, member of the Board of Directors for Citizens Bank of Maryland (now SunTrust Bank), Prince George’s County Tourism Council, Suburban Maryland Home Builders Association and Washington Metropolitan Homebuilders Association, Hyattsville Lions Club, Maryland Higher Education Commission, the University of Maryland Board of Regents, Prince George’s County United Way and the Southern Maryland Heart Association.
When it comes to retail, Carrollton Enterprises is committed to a partnership with citizens, businesses and Prince George's County police officers to provide security for our shopping centers. It has developed a security system that uses a combination of three specific resources; mobile and foot security patrols, enhanced lighting and twenty-four hour visual surveillance technology creating a safe environment for our shoppers and tenants.
